Good Grains

Good Grains was built around a simple belief: cereal should be made from real food, not formulas. The founders came to us with a name already in place and a beloved yeti character they hoped to preserve and reimagine. With Expo West approaching quickly, they needed more than a refresh. Our task was to build a cohesive brand strategy, identity system, packaging, and digital experience that could relaunch the brand with clarity and impact. The cereal aisle is crowded—and increasingly mistrusted. Many families have moved away from the category altogether, skeptical of over-processed ingredients and exaggerated health claims. Good Grains needed to win back the modern household buyer while still engaging kids at the table. We built the brand around bold ingredient transparency, making real ingredients the hero rather than hiding behind marketing claims. Organic khorasan wheat and simple corn puffs became central storytelling elements, supported by a grounded color palette, honest typography, and photography that celebrates real flavor and texture. The reimagined yeti adds warmth and intrigue, balancing trust for parents with playfulness for kids.

Nothing to Hide.

The Good Grains identity was designed to feel bold, approachable, and rooted in honesty. A friendly, confident logo anchors the system while ingredient-driven colors and textures reinforce the minimally processed nature of the cereal. On pack, flavors like chocolate, honey, and cinnamon appear in their recognizable forms—celebrating taste without compromise. Illustrated characters inspired by mythological creatures introduce a playful world around the brand while promoting balance, movement, and joyful mornings.

Beyond packaging, we created a full digital and launch ecosystem to support the brand’s return to market. A custom Shopify Plus website was designed and built from the ground up, featuring a dynamic color system that shifts with each flavor and a responsive design optimized for performance, accessibility, and growth. Supporting materials—including social templates, photography, sales collateral, and the Expo West booth—extended the brand across every launch touchpoint.

Share What's Good.

The result is a cereal brand that feels transparent, joyful, and grounded in real food. By putting ingredients front and center and building a flexible identity system around them, Good Grains re-enters the cereal aisle with a clear promise: familiar flavors made with ingredients families can trust.
